Meek Mill ain’t one to hold back, and he recently gave a sneaker reseller a piece of his mind after a transaction left him less than pleased.

The Dreamchasers boss was at a sneaker expo of sorts, where he eyed a pair of Jordan Retro 4 x SB Pine Greens with a hefty $500 price tag. Now, that didn’t sit too well with Meek, and he tried to haggle with the seller. But in the end, he paid up, not without dropping some knowledge.

Meek, in his Philly style, let the seller know that he missed out on a prime opportunity to hustle smart. If they had worked out a deal, Meek suggested he might have given the seller more business or even shared his platform to help the seller’s hustle grow.

“Look, if I could get ’em from the store for the regular price, why would I drop $500 here? And then you’re getting a free commercial from me – that’s a bad move. Let me teach you how to hustle,” Meek started off. “You want the $500? I could go grab these from the store right now for $300. You really want $500? That’s a bad move. I’ll still buy ’em from you, but it’s not a smart sale.”

Meek didn’t stop there: “You’re supposed to hook up Meek Mill with a good deal and get that free commercial. Boom, then I might come back and buy more.”

Now, Meek said he could snag those Retro 4’s for $300, but the reality is they’re long gone from stores after hitting shelves at $225 back in March. On consignment shops and platforms like Flight Club or StockX, they’re commanding way more than what Meek was going for.

Sneakerheads everywhere had a lot to say about this, and the exchange blew up on social media. Some said that reselling is a business, and being a celebrity doesn’t mean discounts should be given out. On the flip side, others chimed in, agreeing with Meek’s point that collaboration is key to growing a hustle.

Meek responded to the chatter around the incident, explaining, “He was trying to get me at his table … and I got these Jordan 3timex for the regular price go look at my old pics. I showed a lot of people in there love … the controlled narrative want it to look one way! Ask them what I came in the room and did … the internet can’t feel it s really not normal [stars emoji] that’s why I still paid him I don’t think y’all will never Get my mental correct [stars emoji] I came there to bring the whole event attention [wink emoji].”
