Kim Kardashian Gets Into Business With The NBA

Kardashian’s SKIMS is the new official underwear partner of the NBA, WNBA, and USA Basketball.

The NBA has joined hands with a significant name in contemporary American culture. Recently, the league declared a new affiliation with SKIMS, a brand founded by Kim Kardashian, venturing into underwear, loungewear, and shapewear. Kardashian, serving as the company’s creative director, expressed her pride in SKIMS’ partnership with the NBA, marking an extension of SKIMS’ increasing impact on culture.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver emphasized that this collaboration would generate new and exclusive experiences and high-quality products. Both parties plan to actively engage during significant league events like the NBA All-Star and the NBA In-Season Tournament.

A new line of men’s products by SKIMS debuted on October 26, with a striking ad campaign showcasing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander from the Oklahoma City Thunder, NFL player Nick Bosa, and international soccer star Neymar Jr.

Jens Grede, SKIMS’ co-founder and CEO, highlighted the NBA’s significant cultural influence, especially in fashion, entertainment, and pop culture. The collaboration signifies an incredible opportunity for both SKIMS and the NBA to connect with the upcoming generation of consumers and fans through basketball. Additionally, the move might indicate the NBA’s intent to attract younger demographics, a concern expressed by Silver last week, recognizing the challenges younger audiences face in accessing live games as they opt for cord-cutting.

SKIMS launched its line of men’s products on Oct. 26 with a new ad campaign featuring the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
