Jay-Z Ends Debate on Whether You Should Choose $500,000 or Dinner With Him

Watch The Moment Jay Z was asked the Half A Million Dollar Question!

Jay-Z has a clear stance on the age-old “Dinner with Jay-Z or $500,000” debate. According to the rap legend, choosing dinner with him over the cash is not the way to go. In a conversation with Gayle King, Jay was asked about this widely memed proposal, which recently made headlines once again thanks to a fan’s direct choice.

Jay-Z’s advice is straightforward: “You gotta take the money.” While some argue that a hypothetical dinner with Jay could offer more long-term value, he disagrees.

Jay emphasized that you can get all the wisdom from his decades-long catalog for the price of a music album, which is typically around $10.99. He considers choosing dinner over $500,000 a “bad deal.” His suggestion is to take the money, buy some albums, and carefully listen to the music. He believes that all the knowledge and life lessons can be found in the lyrics of his songs.

He went on to explain that over the years, his lyrics have displayed a forward-looking perspective, often proving to be prescient. “It’s all there,” Jay stated. “Everything that I said was gonna happen happened. Everything that I said I wanted to do, I’ve done. There’s the blueprint. The blueprint, literally to me and my life and my journey, is there already.”

This candid insight from Jay-Z settles the ongoing debate with his endorsement. It seems like it’s an opportune time to side with “take the money” and enjoy the financial benefits. More moments from Jay’s chat with Gayle King will be revealed on CBS Mornings in the coming days.

Additionally, this month Jay-Z discussed his collaboration with Hype Williams in an interview with Aria Hughes for Complex, offering more depth on his creative ventures.
