City Council Vote Approving G-Unit Studios – 50 Cent Celebrates “Historic” Result

50 Cent is expanding his film and television empire with a state-of-the-art production facility in Louisiana.

Shreveport City Council members greenlit the lease of Millennium Studios to 50 Cent on December 12, a move the G-Unit mogul proudly announced with bipartisan approval. Highlighting the historic unity of a Republican mayor’s office and a Democratic majority City Council, 50 Cent shared the news on Instagram, emphasizing the bright future this collaboration signifies for Shreveport. The 30-year lease, with a 15-year option, grants 50 Cent control over the Louisiana facility. Expressing gratitude to Mayor Tom Arceneaux and the City Council, he envisioned the expansion of his film and television domain.

In his Instagram post, 50 Cent extended thanks, stating, “Thank you for welcoming myself and G-Unit Studios along with G-Unit Film and Television to Shreveport, Louisiana. I am excited to get started on building a state-of-the-art production facility.” The ambitious move aligns with his plan to elevate G-Unit Film and Television, fostering diverse content creation and generating job opportunities within the community.

While the annual rent for the facility is a modest $2,400, 50 Cent assumes responsibility for its upkeep, amounting to $180,000 per year. The lease agreement mandates consistent activity, requiring G-Unit Film and Television to engage in film, television, and music productions at the Shreveport studio. Striving for continuous productivity, 50 Cent faces a stipulation against any lapses in production exceeding 180 days. The official transition of control to 50 Cent and his G-Unit team is set for January 1, 2024.
