Charlamagne Tha God, renowned host of The Breakfast Club, recently delivered a thought-provoking perspective to his fellow rappers, shedding light on the critical need to reassess the company they keep.

In a compelling discussion with TMZ at the United Justice Coalition Summit on December 1, Charlamagne urged artists to rethink the conventional entourage model, advocating for the hiring of qualified individuals such as bodyguards and managers.

His argument pivoted on the potential drawbacks of large, undefined groups surrounding artists, emphasizing the risk of unnecessary complications and legal issues. Charlamagne suggested that the concept of entourages is outdated, especially when individuals without clear roles or meaningful contributions are involved. He stressed the importance of forming a team of professionals with specific roles, rather than relying on unqualified friends from one’s neighborhood. Highlighting the potential risks associated with unstructured entourages, Charlamagne underscored the necessity for genuine security measures.

Drawing from personal experience, he shared his approach, stating, “The way I move, I have real security with me. You know? I have former police officers that are security, and they know how to handle situations. Security’s job isn’t to beat people up. Security’s job is to diffuse things…. I tell folks that all the time: make sure your infrastructure is right. Make sure everybody actually has a role. Make sure everybody actually has a position that they’re playing.”

Charlamagne continued to emphasize the importance of a well-organized infrastructure, advising artists to ensure that everyone on their team has a defined role and purpose. Through this approach, he believes artists can mitigate risks and cultivate a more professional and secure environment.
